Edinburgh Lifestyle

So, we get a lot requests from tourists and young professionals on the best places to stay in the UK while at Uni and when you’re just starting out in your career.

Each week we will look at different cities but this time around we’re going to have a quick look at Edinburgh.

There are cheaper and expensive areas in Edinburgh depending on your budget. We’ve put together a list of some places to consider when you make the plunge and move here.

Marchmont

If you’re looking for an area with great bars and clubs then look no further than  Marchmont. You can choose from many apartment types including Tenements from the Victorian era that add to its allure. It’s popular with young professionals as well as students. Its also only a 15 minute walk from the Univerisity.

Tollcross

Another area to consider is Tollcross. With lots of restaurants, bars and cinemas not far from you, you’re spoilt for choice really. Ideal for students but don’t feel worried if it’s too rowdy as you can get on with your studies in peace. Lots of house living options available while being close walking distance to George Square.

Newington

In the southside of Edinburgh, here you can see why its popular with young professionals and students. Find many supermarkets, shops and bars here too. If you’re attending the University of Edinburgh, you’ll only be around 20 minutes away.  This place suits students on a budget.

Some people prefer a house to a flat and again there are loads of options available.  Lots of great housing options with gardens. We know that you may be busy so it may be hard to keep up with other jobs such as landscaping. If you’re in the Edinburgh area we suggest:
